More About Debbie’s Art
Debbie is a perpetual child at heart, and has been creating art since childhood. Her brightly-colored, often whimsical folk-art drawings and paintings are inspired by a deep sense of kinship with nature and animals, a vivid imagination, and an affinity for the mystical and magical. Debbie has been drawing and painting since childhood. She has completed several university-level art courses (roughly equivalent to a minor in art), but she is also largely self-taught.
About a decade ago now, Debbie finally returned to her lifelong love of creating art. Her drawings, paintings, hand-woven bracelets, and hand-painted silk items have sold in galleries both in northern California and online. She also has a Deb Hart’s Art website, which she is planning to upgrade soon.
Debbie currently creates primarily whimsical small-format folk art, ranging in size from ACEOs (art cards, the size of business cards) to 8 x 10 inches with occasional larger pieces. Her current favorite media are fine-art markers and ink on acrylic paper and acrylic paints on canvas, but she is also planning to experiment further with other media, such as fiber and collage. Stay tuned to see what she will come up with next!
